Educational program "The treasure of red balls" involved 1800 students.

The EP "The treasure of red balls" streamlined during the school year 2014-2015, sought to raise awareness of the natural values ​​in the Natura 2000 network and to sensitize the educational community to the need to conserve the habitat of yew. Participating students are mostly derived from the first cycle.

In the sessions developed in the classroom context, students were challenged to explore concepts within the thematic native forest, with a strong connection to the local reality. With the operation of a multimedia animation, it was possible to explore some aspects of native species of flora, including yew. At the end of the session it was distributed to each of the students, a Pedagogical Exploration Script in order to allow consolidate and deepen some of the concepts discussed.

This was an initiative developed within the project LIFE TAXUS, which is co-funded by the LIFE + Programme of the European Commission and the VALORMED and has the support of ICNF - Nature Conservation Institute and Forestry.
